How does it work?

Female horseflies and stable flies need to feed on blood before laying eggs. When searching for a host, they are primarily attracted by heat and movement. The black surface of the bucket heats up in the sun and moves in the wind, making it resemble a large animal to insects. Attracted insects land on the glue-covered surface and become immobilized. Regularly trapping females helps reduce their population as they cannot lay eggs.
